You’re still my favorite local producer.*

Jeff aka Espy One (i think) aka @tweeterjennings is pretty much my favorite local producer. He’s got a style that doesn’t sonically call you to the south, but it almost does. His beats are a good mix of a lot of sounds that at some times feel crowded, but if you took even one sound out, it wouldn’t work at all.

Jeff has been my guide through underground hip-hop for about 5 or 6 years, he used to meet me and give me mp3 CD’s loaded with stuff that I’ve never heard of. Some of it I still listen to, some of it I don’t. He’s like the oracle of underground music. Seriously.

I spoke to him recently about the beats and he said he wasn’t doing it anymore. I wanted to call him retarded, but if your heart ain’t in it, then your heart ain’t in it. I just hope he keeps it up.
