Earlier in the year sample pictures of these showed up on the internet and where called the “Toxic Avengers” but here we have for you the final design of these sneakers and they are now called the “Toxic Sea Robins”. These sneakers are set to be dropping on August 15th at NJ Skateshop and are going to be gone quick especially with that icey green sole. If you want to pick them up now they are available at Premier but if not check out the address below on where to pick them up.

Nike Sports Livestrong Exhibit

Working on an ultra-short timeline, Frank Liew and the Qubic crew were able to bang out a great installation on behalf of Nike Sportswear for their LIVESTRONG collection. In addition to showing the obvious products associated with the project, the installation also gave a chance to showcase other aspects of the project including the bicycle and Tour de France components due to Lance Armstrong’s involvement. A profile map of the gruelling Tour de France Stage 20 (Montelimar – Mont Vernoux) as well as a deconstructed yellow bike complete the installation. A cancer-survivor himself, Lance Armstrong has spent a large amount of his time raising funds for cancer awareness and research and with Nike Sportswear on-board, the two parties will see all proceeds from the sales of the collection benefit the LIVESTRONG foundation.

Electric Zombie Summer Line

Electric Zombie’s Summer line just got released and there is only one word that can describe it. Spectacular. EZ has put together a line inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and 80’s era wrestling.

From what I can tell, artists include Kyle Crawford, Michael Shantz, Keaton Henson (maybe, it looks like his stuff). The shirts are pretty moderately priced, especially for limited edition prints, only 100 of the TMNT shirts were printed.

Get on it, if I wasn’t broke, I would be.

The shirt features representations from most of De La’s album covers, 3 Feet High and Rising, De La Soul is Dead,Stakes is High and AOI.

Eddie Van Halen releases sneakers, ethics.

Legendary Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen has put his name on a new line of kicks.

In partnership with New Jersey-based FEA Merchandising, a company specializing in recording-artist merchandise, Van Halen is releasing both high- and low-top canvas sneakers with red, white and black stripes, similar to those the guitarist wears onstage. Like those, the new EVH brand shoes mimic the design of his Frankenstein guitar.

The men’s shoes, which are available for $54 (for low tops) and $59 (for high tops), are also available in black and white as well as black and yellow. The shoes will be sold at EVHgear.com, as well as select department and specialty stores.

“So many people would ask me, ‘Where can I get a pair of those?’” Van Halen said in a statement about the style he’s been wearing onstage. “After hearing that for about 15 years, I figured they were something that people obviously wanted, so making them available and official seemed like a natural progression.”

So let me get this straight Mr. Van Halen, it’s ok for you to sue Nike for infringing on your “look”, but is it ok to completely rip off the Chuck Taylor design? I think not.

For shame Mr. Van Halen, for shame.

EVH vs. Nike Lawsuit

Eddie Van Halen wants Nike to stop running with the devil.

Reps for the Van Halen rocker’s company, ELVH Inc., filed a cause of action for copyright infringement Friday in Los Angeles Federal District Court against Beaverton, Ore.-based Nike.

ELVH alleges that the design of certain Nike Dunk Low styles infringe on the copyright the company holds for the red-white-and-black-striped pattern Van Halen made famous on his “Frankenstein” guitar — and for which the musician has held the copyright since 2001.

Citing “irreparable harm and damage,” ELVH is asking for the impoundment and destruction of all the shoes in question, as well as all profits from the sale of the shoes and damages.

As previously reported by Footwear News, Van Halen released a line of men’s high- and low-top sneakers featuring the Frankenstein design earlier this spring though licensee New Jersey-based FEA Merchandising, a company specializing in recording-artist merchandise.

Lawyers for Van Halen said they had no comment beyond the filing, preferring, they said, “to try cases in court.”

In a statement provided to FN by a brand spokesperson, Nike said it was aware of the lawsuit but did not believe it to have merit. “Based on the information provided to us, we have not infringed on any rights held by Mr. Van Halen,” it said. “Nike’s Dunk shoe design is not substantially similar to any of the Van Halen designs, and Nike has not referenced the ‘Van Halen’ name or image as part of any marketing campaign or promotional material associated with the shoe.”
